Abstract Sepsis severely threat human health which impaired the microcirculation, tissue hypoxia and multiple organ failure. In recent years, a growing body of research has shown that pathophysiological changes in patients with sepsis associated with oxidative stress. The effect of antioxidant supplementation with vitamin C for improving the condition of patients with sepsis with multiple effect, can improve the prognosis of patients. This article reviews the related researches of mechanism and the clinical applications of vitamin C in septic patients in order to timely implement an effective intervention measures for septic patients to improve survival rate.
