Abstract Objective: To investigate the accuracy of sepsis-related organ failure assessment (SOFA) in clinical physicians. Methods: A questionnaire contained a case report was send to clinical physicians by cell phone. The physicians were demanded to complete the SOFA score according to the case data. The accuracy of every variable of SOFA and the mistakes with their prevalence were recorded and analyzed. Results: Fourteen physicians send back the effective questionnaire. The high-frequency mistakes included PaO2/FiO2 (71.4%), norepinephrine (64.3%), and Glasgow coma scale score (54.5%). The central nervous system score was incorrect in 27.3%. Total score of SOFA was incorrect in 57.1%. Conclusion: The small sample investigation reveals that SOFA is not assessed properly by clinical physicians, and it is necessary to apply strict training of SOFA.
