Abstract Objective To explore the relationship between the level of growth soluble ST2 (sST2), NT-proBNP in peripheral blood and the recent clinical prognosis of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Methods A total of 160 patients with sudden cardiac arrest who received CPR were divided into three groups. The patients whose sST2 levels are less than 200 μg/L assigned into Group A.Those whose sST2 levels at the time of 48-72 h after CPR are higher than the time of 0 h and 24 h after CPR assigned into Group B, and those whose sST2 levels at the time of 48-72 h after CPR are lower than the time of 0 h and 24 h after CPR assigned into Group C. Serum NT-proBNP, LVEDD, LVEF of three groups at different time points were detected. The patients were followed-up for 6 months to record mortality. Results sST2 and NT-proBNP showed interaction (F=14.875, P=0 .001). At the same time, LVEDD and LVEF changed with the level of sST2 and NT-proBNP. The mortality of sST2 high expression group and NT-proBNP high expression group were higher than that of low expression group (χ2=5.096, P<0.05). Survival analysis showed, 6 months survival rate of group B was significantly lower than that of group A (χ2 = 13.476, P=0.001) and group C (χ2 = 7.347, P=0.008), there was no statistical difference between group A and group C (χ2 = 2.385, P=0.086). Conclusion Serum sST2, NT-proBNP detection can well predict the recent clinical outcomes of patients with CPR.
