Abstract Blood pressure does not remain the same. In recent years，more and more researches from abroad and our country have shown the results that blood pressure variability（BPV）has a close re⁃ lationship with target organ damage and prognosis. To analyze this relationship better，more and more evaluation indexes of BPV appear. But they all have their advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore， clinical trials almost focus on the clinical significance of different types of BPV. Blood pressure fluctua⁃ tion may not only leads to left ventricular hypertrophy，stroke，reduce of renal function，hemorrhage of the fundus and so on，but also relates with occurrence and progress of fibromyalgia，sepsis and some other diseases. However，research results are not the same. Based on the experimental results of abroad and China，evaluation indexes，risk factors and clinical significance are reviewed in this article.
