Abstract Objective To investigate the value of the olive oil fat emulsion in patients with sep⁃ sis. Methods A total of 31 sepsis patients were randomly divided into 2 groups,15 cases in the medi⁃ um and long chain fat emulsion group,16 cases in the olive oil fat emulsion group. The patients were treated actively to fight infection. Two groups of patients were given five days fat emulsion. They were ex⁃ tracted peripheral venous blood to test indicators before treatment and 6 days after treatment. Flow cy⁃ tometry was used to detect the expression of CD4+,CD8+,double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked im⁃ munosorbent assay was used to detect the concentration of TNF-α and IL-10. Results There was no statistically significant difference between two groups patients before treatment of CD4 +,CD8 +,CD4 +/ CD8+,TNF-α and IL-10(P>0.05). Compared with the medium and long chain fat emulsion group, the proportion of CD4+ in the olive oil fat emulsion group was reduced, the proportion of CD8+ was increased, the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ was decreased, the concentration of TNF-α was decreased, and the concentration of IL-10 was increased, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion In pa⁃ tients with sepsis, the olive oil fat emulsion can reduce the concentration of TNF-α,improve the concen⁃tration of IL-10 and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ ratio.
