Abstract With the increasing use of immunosuppressive medications and chemotherapeutics, Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) has become a prevalent opportunistic infection in the non-HIV population. In these patients, the incidence increased year by year and the mortality was high. In addition, Pneumocystis jirovecii appears resistant to prophylactic sulfonamides. In order to improve the prognosis of these patients, this review summarizes research progress on the treatment for PJP in non-HIV immunocompromised patients.
