Abstract Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is the most common hospital acquired infection of the patients who admitted to the intensive care unit. Patients with VAP infection may increase the duration of mechanical ventilation, length of stay, cost of health care, and the risk of other complication all over the world. So the incidence of VAP may decrease when we take the intervention of prevention intentionally. This paper will give specific reviews about the prevention of VAP.
